Will Johanson was born and raised in California’s Central Valley, the son of hardworking parents who instilled in him the values of family, responsibility, and individual liberty. With an older sister and twin brother, he learned early that strong families and personal freedom are the foundation of a good life.

His passion for liberty ignited in high school during Ron Paul’s 2008 presidential campaign. Will’s passion for country led him to enlist in the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Operator. After an intense two-year nuclear training program, Will served aboard the USS Georgia as an Engineering Laboratory Technician. By the time he honorably separated in 2020, he had earned the rank of Machinist’s Mate (Nuclear) First Class (E-6) and the qualification of Senior Supervisor — leadership earned through technical excellence and real-world responsibility.

Seeking greater freedom and opportunity, Will reunited with his family who had already moved to Idaho. Using the GI Bill, he earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Boise State University.

Today he works as an engineer in Idaho’s growing semiconductor industry.

Will’s experiences — from nuclear reactors on a submarine to building advanced technology in the Treasure Valley — have shown him firsthand how government overreach, crushing debt, and bureaucratic red tape hurt working families and stifle innovation. That’s why he’s running for Congress in Idaho’s 2nd District as a Libertarian: to fight for limited government, fiscal responsibility, strong national defense, and the individual liberties that make America exceptional.

A proud Idahoan, veteran, and engineer, Will is committed to bringing common-sense, principle-driven representation to Idaho’s Second Congressional District.
